The sister duo behind the hookk brand began their love of crafting in childhood watching the women of their family sew, crochet and knit.  They feel inspired by many artistic mediums, but none resonate as deeply as working with natural fibres through crochet where they take standard stitches and reinterpret them in modern ways. In addition to fibre, leather and recycled elements feature heavily in their original and often one-of-a-kind designs.

Living abroad for many years in Africa, the Middle East and South America has heavily influenced Teri’s love of colour and dramatic design. 

After working in the construction industry for 30 years, Chris developed an appreciation for design and structure that has given her the ability to create what she sees in her mind’s eye.

The pair have been part of the Ottawa Valley textile community since 2022 and joined the Riverguild in 2026.
