Rita Redner  ~  Potter

Rita has had a passion for clay since she was a teenager, which led her to Sheridan College School of Design. While she was a student Rita was fortunate to learn about salt glazing and an instant bond was formed.  Her studies were enhanced by having the experience of working with two professional potters. This gave her a glimpse into everyday life as a potter which she found very appealing.  Now she uses a variety of sodium sources to fire her work in her salt kiln. Form, colour, and texture are the defining features of her work which is meant for everyday use. Lately  she has been experimenting  with larger forms made in 2 pieces which are elaborately decorated
