Brooke Valley School
Then and Now
Brooke Valley School has been a reflection of the shared values held by a community of parents, children and teachers. Parents chose to send their children to Brooke Valley out of concern for the quality of education and the quality of school life. Self- reliance, self- respect, shared responsibility and co-operation are some of the values incorporated in the learning environment of Brooke Valley School. In 1975, parents in the community of Brooke Valley started a co-operative school making use of their varied skills. Those same concerns are still with parents today, a trend toward home schooling in the community has allowed the school to adapt to meet the needs of those families.
Brooke Valley School has
always been non- profit privately funded charity and relies on participants fees
and donations.
We are thrilled to inform you that Brooke Valley School will be running a full time program for the 2004/2005 year. Teachers Coral Nault and Stephen McRae will be teaching 18 students from the greater Brooke area. The kids are ranging in age from 6 - 13 and all grades but one will be represented.
The school is run by a volunteer board of administration. This is an efficient way of running the school and we think is in the best interest of the kids, teacher and parents.
Of course we are always fundraising. We try to keep the tuition fees low but give a descent salary to our teacher.
